Open Love NY presents Poly Movie Night, a FREE series of feature films that focus on the portrayal of consensual / ethical non-monogamy in cinema.
Our third selection is Spike Lee’s influential, and controversial, debut feature “She’s Gotta Have It” (1986). WARNING: This movie contains a depiction of sexual assault.
We’ll meet at the bar at 6:30 for pre-screening socializing and start the movie promptly at 7 pm in the private theater in the back. Videology Bar & Cinema in Williamsburg is about 7 blocks from the Bedford Street stop on the L, or about 9 blocks from the Marcy Avenue stop on the JMZ. The more people come, the more likely we’ll continue the event! Food and drinks are available for purchase from Videology staff throughout the event.
Synopsis: Protagonist Nola Darling is dating three men at the same time, though each of them objects. Nola’s solution to their nagging efforts to convince her to choose just one? Invite them all to share Thanksgiving dinner with her. Running time: 1 hour, 28 minutes.
