So, August didn’t go so well. Didn’t go at all because of weather to be precise. Let’s try again! October 24th, from 10AM to 2:30PM, Open Love NY will be staking out an area in Central Park around Cedar Hill (see map above) in which to meet and play games. We will be providing some games (list below) as well as rules explanations. Please bring any you wish to play as well.
No food to drink will be provided by Open Love NY, so please bring what you need or plan to buy from local vendors, and don’t forget sunscreen. Even if you don’t feel heat from the sun you can still get sunburned!
We continue to follow CDC guidelines. As of this writing fully vaccinated people will not be required to wear masks as this will be an entirely outdoor activity (https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/vaccines/fully-vaccinated.html). Open Love NY has no policy. Unvaccinated individuals are asked to please wear a mask and maintain social distance. Most games can be played while distanced if a little awkwardly. We are also monitoring Central Park’s regulations regarding vaccinations and masks, which as of this writing mirrors the CDC’s guidance. Please remember that NYC’s MTA still requires masking for all individuals regardless of vaccination status for all enclosed stations and methods of transport (https://new.mta.info/coronavirus)
We continue to stress the importance of consent for all physical contact, even things as simple as a hug. Ask consent and respect boundaries even if it seems like others are not.
The most accessible entrances are from 5th Ave and E 79th St, with the M79-SBS bus nearby (https://goo.gl/maps/EMfbGVvj2B81xM7j7) and 5th Ave and E 76th, with the M1, M2, M3, and M4 buses having stops nearby (https://goo.gl/maps/AwLC5ow1RbZ6DKsf8).

To help identify the event, there will be a parrot plushie on display (the “Polly” visual gag never gets old you see), and the hosts of the event will be wearing custom name tags that say “OLNY Host” with the heart/apple graphic.
