In the dictionary “monogamy” is synonymous with “ethical” – part of the reason why “ethical non-monogamy” blows some people’s minds. How do we ensure that our non-monogamous relationships are truly ethical and sustainable?
Join Open Love NY for Part 1 of an interactive discussion about ethics as they apply to non-monogamy. We’ll begin by covering some basic topics, such as:
– What is ethical behavior (in general)?
– How do we define and apply ethics in relation to non-monogamous relationships?
– How do common practices like unicorn hunting and OPPs violate ethical standards?
We will unpack ethical dilemmas that are present in ethically non-monogamous relationships and explore practical solutions to those dilemmas that minimize harm and maximize success and happiness. We will also touch on intersectionality, equality vs. equity and intent vs. impact, setting the table for a more in-depth discussion on intersectionality at a future meeting..
