Open Love NY presents Poly Movie Night, a FREE series of feature films that focus on the portrayal of consensual / ethical non-monogamy in cinema. This month we’ll be hosting the event on Zoom while we practice social distancing to slow the spread of Covid-19.
On May 6, please join us for “The Unbearable Lightness of Being” (1988), starring Daniel Day-Lewis, Juliette Binoche, and Lena Olin, based on the novel by Milan Kundera.
The Zoom session will start at 6:30 for pre-screening socializing and the movie will start at 7 pm. Please download Zoom before the film starts. The event is free, although a $5-$10 suggested donation to help fund future events is much appreciated. You can send donations through Venmo to @Open-LoveNY.
Synopsis: In 1960’s Czechoslovakia, a young doctor, Tomas, falls in love with a monogamous-minded woman, Tereza, while trying to maintain an existing relationship with Sabina. The events of the Prague Spring and the Soviet invasion change all of their lives.
